Name 41: The Holy of Holies
Hei Hei Hei – Crossing into Wholeness
Acrylic on canvas, 100cm x 150cm (40" x 60")
“This painting brought me humbly to my knees."
– Susan Smith
Once each year, on the Day of Atonement, the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies—a place no other person could enter—crossing the veil into the Divine Presence.
He entered only after rigorous preparation. A rope was tied to his ankle, for if he was not ready for the encounter, he would not return.
The veil was never simply a curtain. It was a threshold.
Held across two canvases, this painting reveals two states of being:
The purple: the weight of separation, the shame of believing we are too broken, too unworthy to enter.
The white: our wholeness—already present, waiting beyond the veil.
Hei
The soul remembers its wholeness.
Hei
The heart remains open.
Hei
The veil parts.
