Flood of Light
The passage that inspired this painting is drawn from the Zohar, one of the foundational texts of Kabbalah. It speaks of divine light flowing through the whole being, dissolving darkness and restoring the soul through purification.
The passage reminds us that darkness has no independent existence, but is transformed wherever light is allowed to enter. The painting invites us to contemplate the possibility that what appears fixed within us may already be yielding to a greater light.
English Translation
Spread throughout the limbs like branches to a tree. Shutting off these lights has an evil effect. This verse rids all forms of negativity and sin that are purged from the body, purifying our souls. All evil spirits, such as Lilit, are liquidated as darkness is decimated by a flood of light.
